Anello Family Fishing History
The Anello Family began their fishing history in Italy and brought it to Bodega Bay just after the turn of the 19th Century when Grandfather Anello brought his first fishing boat.

Bodega Bay Blue Dawn by Dianne Levy.Tony and his brother have been fishing from these shores ever since they were teenagers 37 years ago, and Tony recently went into the business full time (when he isn't working as a fireman at the local Coast Guard Station).

Tony and crew take out the Annabelle out of her slip for salmon and crab during season. They leave at dawn and are often out several days at a time, depending on where the catch-of-the-day is swimming. Because their shop is directly across the street from Spud Point Marina, the fish is as fresh as it can be. With their children, they staff the Crab Company's shop on Westshore Road in Bodega Bay.

Carol said her son's affinity for the job runs in the family. "It must be in Mark's blood . . . his great-granddad on his father's side was a fisherman in Italy. Mark's been fishing since he was 8 years old. "He's had a commercial boat since he was 15. He bought it from a family who didn't want it and started working to rebuild it.
